Last December 2025, selected students from the College of Architecture flew to Hong Kong to attend DesignInspire 2025, immersing themselves in a global platform for creativity, innovation, and design exchange.

DesignInspire is an international exhibition uniting designers, creatives, and industry professionals to showcase innovations steering design’s future. For the students, this environment offered firsthand insight into the evolving landscape of architecture and design across contexts and disciplines.

During their time at the event, the students engaged in various exhibitions and learning sessions that expanded their understanding of design thinking. As they shared, “We participated in several activities within the convention center… Through these conversations, we learned about the conceptualization and development of the ideas they showcased, gaining valuable insights into their design approaches.

The group was also introduced to modern ideas that showed how design continues to evolve in both form and process. Witnessing real-world applications of circulation, wayfinding, and urban systems deepened their appreciation of architecture as both a functional and human-centered discipline.

One of the key takeaways of the group came from a workshop they attended during the event. “Attending a workshop on the use of AI to generate images, videos, and music introduced us to how emerging digital tools are becoming part of the contemporary design process, emphasizing that architecture today extends beyond physical structures and increasingly involves the integration of creativity, technology, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Beyond the exhibition, their experience extended into the city itself. As they reflected, “Our experience in Hong Kong taught us that architecture is not only about designing visually impressive buildings, but also about shaping how people experience and navigate a city.

This international exposure reflects FEATI University’s commitment to developing architects who are not only technically skilled but also globally aware, adaptable, and responsive to the changing demands of the built environment.

As students reflect on their short but insightful trip, they proudly carry with them lessons shaped by real-world observation and global engagement. “The journey became more than just travel; it became a real-world classroom… Hong Kong offered us not only memorable moments but also valuable insights that we will carry with us as we continue our journey toward becoming architects.”
