Dr. CFDomingo, Director of Professional Schools , led the guests to a brief orientation tour of FEATI Maritime Training & Assessment Center, Digital Design Learning Center, Robotics Lab, FEATI Welding Training Center and the full scale Maronouchi train coaches donated to the University by Tokyo Metro Co. Ltd.

In the conference that followed, Director Juanani of TESDA. Manila and her team were presented with a comprehensive background of the FEATI Railways Program highlighting the various initiatives of the school in developing industry partnerships, active involvement with the Philippine Railways Institute of DOTr, international linkages and acquiring Commission on Higher Education (CHED) approvals of several engineering programs with Railways Specializations.

The presentation included a multi year job forecast from DOTr-PRI of the specific railways related skills needed by the Philippine Railways industry. FEATI University invited TESDA to work with the FEATI Railways Program in accrediting training regulations which will be offered in FEATI consistent with the job identified skills requirements. The University posits the advantage of the training regulations as initial qualifications to completing a TESDA Diploma that leads to an engineering degree in FEATI University.

FEATI and TESDA are both interested in immediately developing “certificate” courses in railways technology ( e.g. tracks & guideways, signalling & communications, power supply & distribution, rolling stock, passenger management, etc). This common objective will be presented to the Philippine Railways Institute ( PRI) as an initiative to bring together a program beneficial to the Philippine Railways Industry.

FEATI presented TESDA with tokens of appreciation for the visit and shared a joint commitment to pursue realization in supporting the program.cfd
