FEATI GradSPreP 2024
On May 9, 2024, FEATI University’s Graduating Students Preparation Program (GradSPrep) hosted an event aimed at preparing the graduating students for global job opportunities. The morning commenced with an invigorating session led by Dean Tristan H. Macapanpan, Assistant Vice President for Academic Affairs, who emphasized the significance of readiness for the competitive job market. Engr. Virgilio A. Zacarias Jr., Director of GradSPreP for SY 2023-2024 and Chairperson of EE/ECE, introduced CG ASN Eleazar T. Terrones REE, RME Batch 2019, BS Electrical Engineering, who delivered an inspiring and compelling motivational talk drawing from personal experiences to inspire the graduating students.
Following the motivational segment, Mr. Glenn Accad, Program Chair of Business Administration, introduced Mr. Gino Alessandro A. Vinluan, Senior Labor and Employment Officer from the Department of Labor and Employment, NCR Manila Field Office, for an insightful session on Labor Education. He concentrated on important facets of employee rights throughout the meeting. In order to successfully negotiate the complexity of the labor market, he emphasized how important it is to grasp and understand these rights. Following Prof. Salvacion Sacaguing’s closing remarks, Mr. Vinluan sought to provide FEATInians with the necessary knowledge to advocate for themselves and make good contributions to the workforce by outlining the fundamental rights of employees.
In the afternoon, the event transformed into a real-life scenario with a Mock Interview session facilitated by a panel of esteemed professionals. The members of the panel included Capt. Armando V. Magbuhat, Onboard Training Supervisor, Mr. Glenn G. Accad, Program Head of BSBA, Darelle Jhane Torno, HR Officer – Recruitment at Dornier Technology, Inc., Ismael Angelo Villeno, Marketing Assistant at Dornier Technology, Inc., Engr. Jayeson Oliver G. Relato, Program Head of BS Aeronautical Department, Engr. Venice D. Portes, Faculty Member of eronautical Department, Ms. Sophia D. Agcaoili, HR Assistant at DMCI, and Mr. Erwin L. Caritativo, HR Assistant at DMCI. This comprehensive event equipped FEATI graduating students with the skills, knowledge, and confidence to pursue and excel in diverse global job opportunities.
With insights shared by seasoned professionals and the practical wisdom taken from mock interviews, the 105 graduating students departed with a newfound sense of confidence and preparedness to embark on their respective professional journeys. Armed with essential knowledge and equipped with invaluable skills, the FEATInians are made to make meaningful contributions to the global workforce, embodying the spirit of excellence instilled within them by their Alma Mater.”
