Successful Conduct of Fire Drill @ FEATI University

The FEATI Safety and Emergency Response Team and representatives from the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), Sta. Cruz, Manila conducted a fire drill on June 21, 2023. The activity was participated in by FEATI officials, employees and students who were in the campus that day.

Immediately before the drill proper, BFP representatives gave a lecture at the FEATI audio-visual room. It was attended by FEATI marshals and Fire Brigade members composed of the University’s security personnel and heads of the different departments. The lecture emphasized the hazards caused by unwanted fire, as well as ways to prevent such. The different stages [pre-fire, sync-fire (fire-fighting)] and types of fire and the different types of fire extinguishers were also discussed. The search and rescue (sync-fire stage) and the recovery and evaluation (post-fire stage) aspects will be discussed in a subsequent lecture/training.

The evacuation drill required all building occupants to get to the Ground Floor as the designated assembly area. A fire-fighting demonstration using fire extinguishers concluded the drill.
