FEATI University has faculties of Engineering, Maritime Education, Management, and Architecture, and recently launched a Railway Engineering course within its Faculty of Engineering. Meanwhile, Tokyo Metro has been offering its expertise and experience in railway operations to railway officials around the world through its “Tokyo Metro Academy,” which provides both online courses and in-person training programs in Tokyo.
The relationship between Tokyo Metro and FEATI University began in February 2020, when Tokyo Metro donated Marunouchi Line Series 02 rolling stock to the university as educational materials. Since then, their collaboration has deepened through the university’s ongoing participation in Tokyo Metro Academy. To further strengthen this relationship, both parties have now signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Training.
This agreement will allow Tokyo Metro to provide technical support to FEATI University by incorporating its expertise and experience in railway operations into the university’s educational activities. Additionally, by offering training programs, Tokyo Metro aims to contribute to the development of local railway professionals in the Philippines, where the railway network is expanding, and also enhance recognition of Tokyo Metro among railway stakeholders in other countries, supporting the company’s future global business development.
Going forward, the two parties will collaborate and examine the implementation of the following three areas of cooperation:
-
- Technical cooperation and collaboration: Tokyo Metro will provide technical support and consulting services for FEATI University’s educational activities.
- Tokyo Metro Academy: Tokyo Metro will provide preferential services to FEATI University as a loyal customer of Tokyo Metro Academy’s online courses and in-person training programs in Tokyo. (e.g., customized training programs, etc.)
