FEATI University Launches First Wave of Outreach with Arise4Dignity Movement

In a powerful display of compassion and service, FEATI University kicked off the first of five community outreach missions in partnership with the Arise4Dignity Movement Food Mission on April 5, 2025. Held along the Boardwalk, Macapagal Ave. in Pasay City, and in front of the historic Malate Church, the event brought together spirited volunteers from the School of Fine Arts, the College of Arts and Sciences, the College of Architecture, the College of Business, and the Electrical and Electronics Engineering departments.

The early morning air was filled with energy and purpose as student and faculty volunteers began distributing meals and donations to individuals and families in need. This mission is the first of five outreach activities, with future dates scheduled for April 12 and 26, and May 17 and 24, 2025. Each of these upcoming missions will be hosted by various Colleges and Departments across the University, ensuring a widespread community effort.

Participants noted how the experience not only touched lives but also strengthened bonds within the FEATI community. “The teamwork and humility of everyone involved were remarkable,” said Mona Deligero from the School of Fine Arts. “It didn’t feel like an obligation—it felt like a calling.”

“Joining the community outreach activity reminded me to be grateful for where God has placed me in life and how He can use us as instruments to serve those in need,” reflected Carlos Miguel dela Cruz, a BS Architecture student. His words captured the quiet sense of reflection shared by many that morning.

For others, the mission offered more than a moment of service—it was an awakening. “Participating in the outreach program opened my eyes to the ongoing struggles of underprivileged individuals and the urgent need for support,” shared Francel Campo, a BSBA Marketing student. “This experience has deepened my commitment to helping others and highlighted the importance of community involvement.”

The outreach initiative is part of a broader commitment to social responsibility at FEATI, inspired by the belief that education extends beyond the classroom and into the heart of society.

On social media, Arise4Dignity founder Bro. Armin Demetillo extended heartfelt gratitude to the FEATI team and fellow mission partners. “Grateful beyond words to FEATI University faculty and student volunteers, Bro Jay and Toni with the Avida group, Bro Luc and Kia, and Arise4Dignity volunteers Chito, Otts, Cesar, Mark, and Lito,” he posted.

He added a reflection that lingered with many: “If your Y (reason for being) is stretched a little bit, it forms your T (Truth of Being).”

In a short interview, Bro. Armin shared his personal goal for the initiative, reflecting that their mission is not only to provide food but also to help some of these homeless individuals rise above their circumstances. By restoring their dignity, they hope to empower them to become taxpayers and contributing members of society despite their struggles.

With this meaningful beginning, FEATI University re-affirms its vision of service to God, country, community, and family; merging education with empathy— where every act of service becomes a valuable lesson in humanity, while each step forward brings hope ever close to those who need it most.
