NSL Update: Seahawks Ambush Knights, Now 4-2

The FEATI Seahawks are now eying a berth in the quarterfinals after sporting 4 wins against only 2 losses when they thumped NCAA runner-up Colegio de San Juan de Letran, 76-72 on May 13, 2008.  The Sta. Cruz cagers are now tied with the Knights at second place behind leader Ateneo de Manila University in Men’s Seniors Division D of the Nike Summer League.

FEATI’s mental toughness sustained the squad through the tightly-contested match with Seahawk Miguel Gonzalez stepping up with 23 points, 12 in the crucial 4th quarter.  Seahawks Erickson Gatchalian and big man IC Dela Cruz posted 17 and 12 respectively.

Coach Louie Gonzalez’ cagers had previously triumphed against the RP-Youth team on May 9 and are now preparing for their last round-robin game against PWU.

The Seahawks must finish at least second in the Division to advance to the coveted quarterfinals.  Knockout games will resolve any ties. (CMS)
