FEATI Graduate is 7th in the May 2008 EE Board Exam
“He was goal oriented and really hardworking,” recalls EE faculty member Engr. Jose A. Silvestre of former student Arnaldo Tibay de Guzman who placed 7th among the 705 passers of the May 2008 Electrical Engineer Licensure Examination. True to its mission, FEATI has produced another topnotcher in the field of Engineering.
After graduating from FEATI University, Arnaldo opted to work before taking the licensure exam. He is presently employed by the Qatar Construction and Engineering Company, Ltd., and was allowed to take a leave of absence to take the exam.
“Far from being a disadvantage, the delay allowed me to get valuable field experience that really helped me a lot during the examination,” relates Arnaldo. “All you need is a specific vision of what you want in life, [and then] focus on everything that you do to achieve it. Now that I have my license, I want to go back [to Qatar] and apply for a higher paying position.” he added.
Along with Arnaldo Tibay de Guzman, another FEATINIAN, Francisco Basilio Guantero counts among the 28.2% newly-minted Electrical Engineers who passed the Board Examination. There were 2,494 examinees.
Filipino Engineering graduates working in the Middle East are often faced with untold difficulties in taking the board exams, prompting the Professional Regulation Commission to hold examinations in the area. Another FEATI graduate, Engr. Jaime Lat Leviste passed the Mechanical Engineering Licensure Exam held by the PRC in Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia last December 24 and 25, 2007, bringing much appreciated honor to the University.
