Flying was her passion and her fascination for airplanes was borne out of the desire to be free like the birds, no boundaries, no restrictions.
Virginia Flores-Rivera found no excuse, being a woman, to pursue her dream to become a pilot, a career thought to be reserved for men during the post-World War II era.
To make her dream a reality, Virginia enrolled at the FEATI Institute of Technology Flying School (now FEATI University) in 1950 and made her solo flight on July 13, 1950 and later finished her course in 1951. In 1954, she passed the examinations for commercial pilot and as flight instructor.
With the natural flair for flying, Virginia soared to greater heights when she worked for the Civil Aeronautics Administration (now CAAP) as Flight Control and Communications Specialist where she later became a Supervisor until her retirement in 1993
Virginia was awarded the title of First Licensed Female Commercial Pilot, as First Licensed Pilot Instructress, and First Airways Communicator Specialist of the Philippines.
Today, Virginia Flores- Rivera is considered an icon, a great FEATI alumnus that proved nothing is impossible for someone with dedication and the heart to succeed. You too can be like Virginia and FEATI University will always be there by your side!

Building is indeed his true passion. He finds fulfillment in creating things from nothing and because of this, Enrique O. Olonan pursued his dream and became an architect in 1974 after graduating from FEATI University, an educational institution known also for producing prolific architects.
Arch. Olonan founded his own company in 1982 under the name Specified Contractors, Inc. (SCI), formerly E. Olonan Enterprises, a small – scale fabrication business. Later, Arch. Olonan took on larger diversified projects and the company’s strategic direction was altered to take advantage of the growing opportunities in the real estate industry.
In 1994, the company was renamed Specified Contractors and Development, Inc. (SCDI). With more clients to serve, the company initiated the incorporation of other subsidiary companies of SCDI. Enrique O. Olonan & Associate Architects was created to focus more on the Architectural and Engineering Design of construction. Starland Properties, Inc.(SPI) was formed to manage the hotel and restaurant operations, and Sunrise Holiday Concepts, Inc. (SCHI) became the first Filipino owned time-share company in the Philippines.
Arch. Olonan, bearing the core values of FEATI University in his heart, has always kept his work philosophy that includes delivering quality service, promoting hard work and encouraging responsiveness to client needs that led the company to succeed in the highly competitive industry.
True to his profession, Arch. Olonan held the position of national president of the United Architects of the Philippines (UAP) from 2004-2005.

Graduated in 1987 with a Bachelor of Science in Architecture degree, FEATI University provided me a great platform of skills enhancement and the opportunity to define myself. Architecture is a combination of art and science and demands solid knowledge and passion.
In FEATI, I have to prove myself, learned practical solution and managed my time wisely between academics and extracurricular activities.
With focus and determination, I passed and landed as a board placer in January 1988 Architect Licensure Examination which brings pride to FEATI as one of the best educational institutions.
What I am today is a rewarding profession and I owed “big time“ to my alma mater to be globally competitive."
